With charisma and intellect, he brings an addictive mix of persona and stage presence in each performance. A child of an African-American and Nigerian, he struggled to identify with either culture group. Growing up he mingled with everyone, consequently, where he struggled in identity, he excelled in the ability communicate and relate to any demographic. Sydney pulls his family upbringing, life experiences and unique worldview to the stage to captivate audiences. He brings the perfect balance of personal stories, social ethics and political ideals.
In 2005, Sydney Adeniyi earned a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has also studied at Edge Comedy Boot Camp and Tim Joyce’s Comedy school at the Improv. In addition to comedy studies, he is a graduate of the Annoyance Improv acting program. This honed his talent to respond and riff on stage and/or on camera. Furthermore, he built his experience on the road while performing with comedy heavy weights such as, Andi Smith, Andrew Kennedy and Julian McCullough.
A crowd favorite, Sydney has earned finalist spots in the Caribbean Jerk Fest and Highland Park Comedy Contest. In 2009 he had the honor to be a feature comedian in Edison Park Comedy Fest. Additionally, he has performed at Zanies, The Improv, Skyline, Comedy Café, and more. Sydney Adeniyi’s success continues to grows as he deliver a hilarious stand-up performance with razor sharp wit and honestly.
