Illinois Tornado Relief

Illinoisans to Help Their Fellow Citizens

CHICAGO, IL – The Laugh Factory Chicago is urging their fellow Illinoisans to come together and help all those that were affected by the tornadoes in central Illinois including the towns of Washington, Pekin, and Peoria.

Starting on Monday, November 25, 2013, the Laugh Factory Chicago will be hosting a 3 day supply drive to support those impacted by the 43 tornadoes that swept Illinois on Sunday, November 17th. There will be trucks parked in front of the Laugh Factory Chicago club at Belmont and Broadway starting on Monday at 7:00 a.m. to collect donations including non-perishable food, clothing, blankets, heaters, toiletries, water, toys, and any other supplies. Donations for Thanksgiving Day meals and monetary donations are also encouraged, and there will be a representative from the Red Cross present to accept checks for their relief fund. The truck will be parked from Monday 7:00 a.m. through Wednesday afternoon.

On Monday at 8:00 p.m., Laugh Factory Chicago will be hosting a comedy show free of charge with any supply donation. The Monday fundraiser will be put on by Chicago comics and WGN morning news anchor, Pat Tomasulo. After the supply drive, the trucks, along with a slew of Chicago comedians will travel to Washington, IL, one of the cities hardest hit by the tornados and do a free pre-Thanksgiving performance to bring some smiles to the faces of those that were affected by the tornado.  The live comedy show for all residents and relief workers will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27th at Five Points Washington theater on 360 N. Wilmor Rd. Washington, IL.

“Laughter is healing and I hope that we can bring some relief. I have learned that Chicagoans have a big heart and are always generous. We are hoping to share a little bit of Thanksgiving day joy to those affected,” says Laugh Factory founder Jamie Masada.

The Laugh Factory Chicago is working to offer as much relief as possible with the help of the caring people of Illinois.
